Put a Tiger in Your Tank Circa 1967. During a corporate branding identity crisis the Humble Oil Co. in 1964 introduced the popular “Put a Tiger in Your Tank” advertising and tiger mascot for its premium gasolines. created the original images of the Esso tiger. Esso later restyled the tiger artwork using the talents of Disney cartoonists. Humble's Esso and Enco gasoline stations displayed this striking poster.
